Our Story
Our family treasure
For years, Tara Hill was our home away from home. Family & friends gathered in what was then a quaint cottage on the hill within an untouched, quintessentially Australian bush setting.
It was our escape from the everyday. A chance to catch our breath in the fresh country air.
While the adults talked for hours over long lunches on the sun-drenched veranda, the kids were exploring. Creating bike tracks, bush huts & chasing wallabies at dusk. Not a screen in sight, with nature as their inspiration. Nights were spent around a fire, under a sky full of stars.
We knew Tara Hill was special. And now, after thoughtful renovations, we have truly uncovered the property’s full potential. We are delighted to share our family treasure & welcome guests. And we hope everyone who visits will love the Tara Hill experience, as much as we do.

Every space at Tara Hill has been designed to bring people together whilst still leaving room for quiet. The transformation is contemporary yet cozy. Spaces are intentional yet flexible. Because true luxury isn’t about excess. It’s about choice, comfort & spaces where we can feel completely present.

Enjoy the feeling of seclusion, yet the historic town of Dungog is just a 10-minute drive away — home to fresh local produce, boutique shops, artisan bakeries, cafés and the historic Settlers Arms Hotel for a classic country pub.
